Personal:

I am Flatlander's son, 24yo, married, no kids, and I'm in medical school at UT-Houston in the Texas Medical Center. Grew up in NW Houston all my life, served a church mission in Vegas for 2 years, graduated BYU in 2010 with a degree in Biology, and moved back to the Real Promised Land as quick as I could, dragging the wife kicking and screaming with me.

1.99

73F, 83%. Felt just as humid as the 100% on Tuesday. 1.99 in 17:50 for an 8:57 pace. Slow, dragging morning. Right about 1.95 I stepped weird on my left foot and couldn't run any more, so I walked about 0.2, then ran the last 0.2 again because the pain vanished as quick as it came. Didn't start my watch again for fear of confusing the satellites and messing up my data.

2.31

75F, 100%, calm winds. 2.31 in 20:11, splits 8:22, 8:52, 9:23. Palpably hotter/tougher conditions this morning, as my splits illustrate. Before my watch beeped the 2nd mile reading, I thought I had sped up from the first mile. Same with the last 0.3. I think a great indicator that you're out of shape/overmatched/not feeling it is when you steadily slow down despite feeling like you're speeding up. Thought for the day.
